In the context of globalization, Beijing City University accelerates its pace in international students’ enrollment to promote exchange and communication with the universities in the other countries. In the summer semester of 2016, BCU received the first group of international students from Duale Hochschule Baden-Wüttemberg (Heidenheim) in Germany and Universidad de las Americas Puebla in Mexico, opening a new page in international exchange in BCU.
BCU International Affairs Office arranged several Chinese students to be the guides or translators to help the international students in getting familiar with Beijng, China. The students were arranged to participate in the professional courses in School of International Studies taught in English, such as Money Banking, Doing Business in China, Business Negotiation and so on.
Besides the professional courses, a variety of traditional Chinese culture courses (calligraphy, paper-cutting, sennit and dough figurine) and Beijing local tours (the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and so on) were offered to them to be close with charismatic Chinese culture. In addition, BCU organized the enterprise tours in partner companies of BCU, such as Lenovo, Hyundai, Yanjing Brewery, to provide an opportunity to observe the operation in a company and develop the ability of putting what they have learned into practice.
During the one semester exchange studying in BCU, the international students spent a wonderful and fruitful life and most of them said that they fell in love with China. The Chinese students also gained an international friendship with the international students.
BCU warmly welcomes more international students from partner universities to visit and study in the coming year.
